Ryan and I thought we would give the Santa thing a try this year. This is difficult for me as I never believed in Santa growing up, but I gave it a good college try. Sarah, Emily, and Sandra came over to help us make Christmas Cookies. We read Addison the Elf on the Shelf book and tried to play along. She really never appeared to believe in Santa and constantly stated that she was on the naughty list. So who knows, we may give it another try next year, but this year, Santa was a bust.

Addison told Ms. Michelle that she went fishing this week. Ms Michelle said, "Who did you go fishing with?"

Addison had been telling me and Ryan that Ms. Bethany (her teacher) was pregnant. We were not sure if we should believe her as Ms. Bethany has older children and is tiny, BUT then she went to Michelles house and told her that we think Ms. Bethany is pregnant and started laughing. And that is how rumors get started....

Michelle called Addison babe. Addison corrected Michelle and said, "I am not babe, that is Daddy :)"

The other night our family was in the game room playing. Ryan was holding Emery and she was crying. Addison said, "Mommy, can you hold your baby, she is crying"

While Christmas shopping, Addison saw a pillow pal that was a Texas Longhorn cow. She asked for a cow pillow. I tried to explain to her that she could not have a cow pillow b/c it was not just any cow, but a Texas longhorn and she was Daddys Aggie girl. She proceeded to through a fit in the store and looked at her shirt and said she was not wearing her Aggie shirt so she could have a cow pillow. She earned herself a crowd in the store that could not stop laughing at our conversation as to why she could not own a longhorn cow.

Addison was playing dress up around the house. She had her "cellphone" to her ear and looked at me and said "Quiet mommy, I am talking to a boy"

At 1yr and 8 months, she asked my Mom. "Meme, where is your friend Papa?"

This girl is on a roll-will keep you posted on any new funnies as she comes up with them.

Aunt Amy even caught fish. Aunt Amy doesn't believe it is necessary to buy worms or fishing poles for fishing. She was out to prove that a stick, fishing line, and some bacon is all you need to catch a fish. We had a competition to see who could catch more fish (team bacon-Amy and Dave vs team worms-Rachel and Ryan).........although team bacon did not beat team worms in the long run, they definitely caught their share of fish. Also Aunt Amy caught a catfish-pretty big one too.

Ryan and his big catch. We caught at least 30 fish in two hours at the pond near the house. Not to mention two turtles. This was a very active fishing trips although the size of the fish were nothing to write home about.

Addison started preschool this past Wednesday, August 24th. She is very excited about her backpack and lunch kit, but the excitement diminished when Ryan and I told her goodbye. Surprisingly, Addison ran out of the class room and tried to grab me. She had to be put back in the room with door closed-----yiks that hurt more than I expected. She has been back twice since and seems to be liking it more and more.

The Warrior Dash

Rusty and Ryan did the warrior dash this past month. Addison went and supported them as they ran their muddy race. She was such a fan that she won her own medal too.

Just a trim and we are trying to grow out her bangs.

Addison was very excited about her first haircut. We were considering not getting it done on Sunday and she didn't want to leave without her hair being cut. It was pretty cute.

Trip to the Zoo

Addison loves the zoo. We try to go a couple times a month while the weather is nice. Its a great place to walk around and she just loves seeing all the animals. This trip she got really excited when she saw the Rhinoceros and yelled to her friend, Hayden, "that is my daddy's favorite." I think she gets this from Ryan's nickname, Rhino

Addison and I went to home depot yesterday to get potting soil and decided to take advantage of the pretty day and buy pansies

Addison put potting soil in the plants using a spoon. She is a diligent little worker and loves to be outside.

A picture of our mess. This mess did not end outside though, Addison decided that her plant (the little blue one) belonged inside on the couch, then she proceeded to try to pick the flowers which ended up with the entire plant on the couch and the pot empty again. We vacuumed up the potting soil and replanted it. It is now in the window seal so it can't make its way back on our furniture.

Addison and I went to the Gaylord to see the ice sculptures with friends (Aubrey, Will, and Georgia).

The sculptures were impressive, but the 1.5 hour line was exhausting

Addison enjoyed looking at the sculptures and maybe next year she will fit into a jacket :)

Austin played too hard at the trails the weekend before Christmas and had a large amount of swelling in his joint-after eating his bandage off at night and a couple days of pain medication-he appears to be recovering pretty well
