Ryan and I landed in the Bahamas just in time for Hurricane Sandy. It was our first time to leave our little girls who were having a blast at their grandparents. Wednesday afternoon it was very windy and we were tired so we elected to take a nap instead of going to the beach or pool. We woke up just in time for all the hurricane fun. The hotel was boarded off with Metal panels with the exception of the front door which ultimately broke due to the storm. My continuing education class was next door to our hotel so we got the pleasure of exploring the winds daily. Our CE class compacted the course during the hurricane so we could have the last day (Sunday) off since it was the first day of visible sunlight. Above is a photo of us right before we left the resort to catch our plane home on Sunday afternoon. The hotel opened a single room that opened to the pool and ocean on the last day we were there. We decided to go out to the beach and take a picture prior to getting on our plane. This nice older women was so sweet and happy to take our picture. Clearly the i phone camera is new to her. Such a sweet lady, but a horrible photographer :) I looked at the picture once we got to the Miami airport and almost died laughing.
